Edible Bowl
2013
The Royal college of Art
Short term project/Solo project
Plastic is a substance the earth cannot digest. This edible bowl is made of several natural ingredients to address this issue. The bowl is shaped and solidified through strong pressing process, so that it would not be broken nor melt easily. Even though the edible bowl is not a perfect alternative, it provides intellectual curiosity to those seeking environmentally friendly materials.

We are working on a project to raise awareness about climate change through speculative design. By collecting climate change data, we are transforming it into music that will convey the urgency of this global issue in a passive yet immersive and impactful way. The music aims to evoke a sense of urgency and encourage listeners to become more conscious and active in their daily lives.
Our project includes a specially designed record player made from sustainable materials, paired with a projector that visualizes the music. The record player serves as a metaphor for a tree trunk, drawing inspiration from how tree rings reveal a visual history of climate changes. This unique design emphasizes the connection between nature and the data driving our music. The project is set to be released by the end of the year.

We used MidJourney to explore initial design ideas for the record player and ultimately decided to go in a direction inspired by a mix of the last two rows.

Working on progress to create a data graph and we are collaborating with a musician who can translate the data into music.
